
Piotr Szulkowski successfully concluded his academic pursuits at the Faculty of Graphic Arts within the esteemed 'Academy of Fine Arts' in Warsaw, where he earned a Master's degree from the Graphic Design Studio in the year 2000 under the esteemed guidance of Professor Mieczysław Wasilewski. He initiated his teaching career while concurrently pursuing his studies. In 1997, he undertook the position of assistant trainee in the Sculpture Studio within the Faculty of Graphic Arts, guided by the esteemed Professor Bohdan Chmielewski. Since 1998, he has served as an assistant to Prof. Jan Jaromir Aleksiun, and from 2009, he held the position of assistant in the Sculpture Studio under Professor Adam Myjak for a span of fifteen years. In that same year, he attained his doctoral degree. Piotr has engaged in a plethora of solo and group exhibitions, showcasing his work both within Poland and on the international stage.
Born in Orneta in 1971, a northwestern Polish town, the artist has been afforded the opportunity to present his works at the distinguished '8th International Triennial of Graphic Arts Sofia' in Bulgaria as well as at the 'Mini Max Print Berlin post-competition exhibition, both of which took place in 2019. In the year 2016, Piotr made a significant impact at the '1st International Print Biennial Łódź -2nd stage, the ‘1st. TKO International Miniprint Exhibition 2016’ (Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka), and at ‘The First Xuyuan International Print Biennial’ in China.
Piotr's works were unveiled at both the ‘First’ & ‘Second’ phases of ‘Third Kolkata International Art Exhibition 2025’ or ‘3rd KIAE 2025’ for short, curated by artist ‘Kaushik Gupta’ and were held at ‘Birla Academy of Art & Culture’ and ‘Academy of Fine Arts’ Kolkata, in the months of February and March respectively. The artist has emerged winner of the 21st edition of the CK Norwid awards in the fine arts category, recognized for the exhibition entitled 'Interpretations of Olympic Disciplines Tokyo 2024.
