Myriam Romero Lyroy.png

Born in Caracas, Myriam Romero-Leroy is an artist of French-Venezuelan heritage, navigating through various forms of artistic expression. She completed her university degree in ‘Urban Design’, which fostered her fascination with studying landscapes academically. This background contributes to her enthusiasm for creating art in outdoor spaces. Additionally, her skills in interior design has helped her to cultivate a unique method of working with various materials and colors which are clearly visible in her paintings.

In her creations, the artist seeks to innovate by merging various materials, leading to the emergence of recognizable figures from art history that connect with the shared unconscious. The materials in Romero's pieces interplay with light and shade, surrounding and affecting surfaces while employing distinct symbols. Her goal is to move those figures into a higher benchmark that alters their fate.

The celebrated artist's creations have been widely displayed, not only in France and various European countries but also in places such as India, China, Bangladesh, and the USA, among others. Her pieces were featured on two occasions at the ‘Dafen Oil Painting Biennale’ during its ‘First’ and ‘Fourth’ editions, which took place in Shenzhen, China in 2018 and 2025, respectively. Moreover, Romero’s artworks were unveiled at the ‘19th Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh’ in Dhaka in 2022. The artist also showcased her talents at the ‘Times Square Emerging Artist, Vision Art Media’ event held in New York, USA, in 2025.

Myriam Romero’s works were showcased in India too at the ‘Second’ & ‘Third’ editions of ‘Kolkata International Art Exhibition’ or simply ‘3rd KIAE 2025’ ‘2rd KIAE 2024’ for short, held at the galleries of ‘Academy of Fine Arts’ & ‘Birla Academy of Art & Culture’ in Kolkata, in March 2024 & February, 2025 respectively.
