
Magdalena Hanysz-Stefańska is one of the celebrated artists in Poland today had obtained her diploma in 1994, under the tutelage of Professor Maciej Świeszewski. She finalized a supplementary project in graphic design under the guidance of Professor Czesław Tumielewicz. The artist holds membership in the Polish Artists Association and occupies a position at her alma mater as an associate professor, leading the Studio of Fundamentals of Artistic Graphics. Magdalena concurrently serves as the head of the Department of Artistic Graphics within the Faculty of Graphics at the 'Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. Among her numerous accolades, she has achieved distinction in a renowned competition in Taiwan as well as being awarded the Equal Prize at the Józef Gielniak Graphic Competition in Jelenia Góra. The artist received an invitation to exhibit her creations at the prestigious 'International Triennial of Graphics' in Kraków.
Born in Gydnia, Poland in 1970, this eminent artist has been the recipient of a multitude of prestigious awards and honors throughout her distinguished creative odyssey thus far. She received an Honourable Mention Award at both the 'International Triennial of Lithograph, Lithokielce' and the '15th Gielniak Graphic Art Competition, both of which took place in 2022. The artist is skilled in painting but her predominant choice of medium lies in graphics, with a particular affinity for linocuts. She draws inspiration from the intricacies of human behavior, the folly of ignorance, the complexities of bureaucracy, the concept of universalism.
The artist likes to explores the diverse array of subjects that might initially appear quite grave, yet she maintains a fundamentally optimistic outlook. The artist once referred to herself as an observer, relishing the opportunity to provide commentary on the intricacies of life as perceived through her discerning lens.
