
Debjani Dey
Artist 'Debjani Dey' was born in Kolkata 1979. She did her Master's in History from 'Vidya Sagar University' in 2004. From her childhood she had a keen interest in drawing and painting, which eventually lead her to pursue a Diploma in Fine Art from 'Swar Sangam' offered by 'Birla Academy of Art & Culture' in 2005. Debjani is pure abstractionist in truest sense. Her paintings used to recall her own experience through non representational visual languages that she creates in a poetic style applying multiple layers of paint to redefine memory and space.
Her works are being exhibited regularly in many important exhibitions throughout India. Her notable participation includes the exhibition titled 'Charulata' held in 'Chitrakoot Art Gallery' Kolkata in 2019. In the same year she was invited to take part in multi artist show titled 'Momarto' held in 'Academy of Fine Arts', Kolkata. She was invited to exhibit her works consecutively at the gallery of 'Rabindranath Tagore Centre', ICCR Kolkata in 2017, 2016 & 2015. Dey's works were being shown at 'Indraprastha Art Gallery' in New Delhi during the early stages of her career as an artist. Debjani took part in numerous art workshops and seminars up until the present time. The artist lives and works in Kolkata.
