       Asvind Dookhorun is a dedicated art practitioner who enjoys experimenting with his creations by utilizing and merging various art forms and mediums. He earned his Bachelor's (Hons) Degree in Fine Arts from 'University of Mauritius' in 2007. He subsequently attained his PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) in Visual Arts from 'Mauritius Institute of Education' in 2012. The artist eventually secured his Master's Degree in 'Animation and Digital Effects' from 'Sheffield Hallam University' UK in 2016.

       Born in 1984, Dookhorun has regularly participated in numerous multi-artist exhibitions in Mauritius, Seychelles, and the UK, and he has also made appearances at the esteemed 8th and 9th editions of the 'Beijing International Art Biennale' titled 'A Colourful World and a Shared Future' and 'Light of Life' held in Beijing, China PR in 2019 and 2022 respectively. He was also invited to exhibit his works at the Second and Third editions of the 'Dafen International Oil Painting Biennale' held in 2020 and 2022 in Shenzhen, China PR respectively. His works have also been featured at Artiade, Olympics of Art in New York. The artist frequently voices his disappointment regarding the absence of art galleries in the island nation of Mauritius. Nevertheless, the artist has had the chance to participate in many exhibitions in Mauritius, notable among them being 'Salon D'été' by the National Art Gallery, Mauritius in 2013 and 2018. His works have also been displayed at Artiade, Olympics of Art, New York and ArtDubai in the the recent past. 

 

      In recent past Asvind Dookhorun's works were showcased at the prestigious Third Kolkata International Art Exhibition 2025' or '3rd KIAE 2025' for short curated by Artist 'Kaushik Gupta' and was held at 'Birla Academy of Art & Culture' in February, 2025. Asvind was a participant artist of 'Chitrashaala 2005' an 'International Artists Residency Program' that took place in Rishikesh, India in February, 2025

 

      . The artist resides and works in Roche-Terre, Mauritius.
